IT support for small businesses: maintenance, backup and security

One contact for your IT: I set up systems, keep them up to date and secure your data – so outages stay rare and you can concentrate on your business.

What IT support includes

Small businesses do not need large-scale solutions, but a few basics that work reliably:

Maintenance and updates

Operating systems, programs, routers and websites are updated regularly. This closes security gaps before they can be exploited.

Data backup

Automatic backups following the 3-2-1 rule and regular restore tests – because a backup only counts once it can be restored.

Secure access

Two-factor authentication, password manager and clean permission management for mailboxes, cloud and programs.

Workstations and network

Setup of computers, smartphones, Wi-Fi, printers and secure home-office access.

Cloud and collaboration

Shared file storage, calendar and team collaboration instead of USB sticks and email attachments.

Data protection basics

Technical measures such as encryption, access protection and deletion concepts. Legal questions you clarify with your legal adviser; I implement the technical side.

Support when problems occur

Quick help with faults and questions, with short response times and documented solutions. How we work together, we decide depending on the assignment.

Website, hosting and email

Operation and upkeep of your website and email mailboxes from one source.

How we start

  1. Security check

We go through devices, access, backups and updates together. The result is a clear list with priorities.

  2. Action plan

You decide what is done now, what later and what not at all.

  3. Implementation

I set up, document and brief your team.

  4. Ongoing support

On request with a fixed hour budget or by effort – transparent and predictable.

What is not my focus

My focus is setup, configuration, software and ongoing support – not repairing defective hardware or operating large data centres. If your request is better handled elsewhere, I will tell you openly.

Frequently asked questions

Does a small business really need a backup concept?

Yes. A defect, theft or ransomware can destroy weeks of work without a backup. A good backup is inexpensive and takes little effort once set up.

What does the 3-2-1 rule mean?

Three copies of your data, on two different media, one of them in a different location (for example in the cloud). That keeps your business operational after fire, theft or encryption.

How quickly do you respond to problems?

I am a sole trader with short paths. We discuss agreed response times upfront before concluding a support agreement.

How does the support work in practice?

We decide that depending on the assignment and your needs, for example by phone, by video call or, when needed, on site in Neuruppin, Brandenburg and Berlin. Together we define what makes sense for your business.

Digital services can be delivered almost entirely by video call, phone and email – which is why I work for clients across Germany. How exactly we work together, we decide depending on the assignment. A meeting on site is possible in Neuruppin, Brandenburg and Berlin by arrangement, elsewhere on request.
